Zoom to Teams Assessment and Deployment at bank
Microsoft Teams + Financial Services

Assess needs, build lab, demonstrate capabilities
Proof of value for Microsoft Teams
A leading financial services firm handling trillions of dollars in assets every year must be agile enough to manage assets quickly, safely, and compliantly, with a great deal of caution and circumspection. And with the ever-rapid pace of technological Bank's change, it is essential for such a behemoth to adapt its technology to meet these goals.
Bank was using desk phones which integrated with Jabber and connected into Cisco Webex meetings. They were looking to implement a unified platform for calling and meetings and wanted to understand if their needs would be better met by a Cisco-based platform, or Microsoft Teams.
Soho was brought in to leverage our expertise in communication platforms and provide a comprehensive assessment of MS Teams' capabilities compared to Cisco technologies.
The project involved several steps:
- SoHo Dragon performed an initial assessment for what Bank was looking for.
- The decision was made to build a lab environment to test MS Teams in Bank’s infrastructure.
- The lab allowed SoHo to demonstrate all the capability and feature requirements. This included demoing capabilities of Cisco Webex, Jabber calling, and Teams calling within MS Teams.
- The demo showed how calling and chatting would look if a person was calling MS Teams from Cisco Teams and vice versa and calling MS Teams to MS Teams.
- The demo was provided to key Bank stakeholders.
- During the assessment, SoHo Dragon helped Bank solve infrastructure issues around the Horizon View 8 VPN client and the audio latency and echo issues that were happening across all platforms.
SoHo Dragon was able to demonstrate all the required functionality and prove that Microsoft Teams would meet Bank’s needs. Bank agreed with the results, but the implementation of the migration to Teams was delayed due to reorganization and leadership changes at the client.
