Application Modernization Assessment

The Application Modernization Assessment assists customers to identify and prioritize applications for modernization to Azure. It prepares you to migrate applications from an on-prem environment to the cloud. This evaluation process takes both a business and architectural perspective to provide customers with cost consumption estimates, reference architecture design, and a modernization plan.

Ideal for customers who are concerned about:

• Limited business agility from aging applications
• User experience in a modern world
• Ambiguity around prioritizing applications for transition
• Increasing support costs for legacy applications

The assessment process captures information critical to the assessment output via modern discovery tools. The deliverable is the Final Assessment Report, which summarizes the process and findings and makes key next steps recommendations. Each project recommendation clearly articulates the value proposition for undertaking the project.

Session 1 – Discovery

Gather accurate data from your IT environment. This will include:

• A review of your on-prem applications and business process. This will include:
  • Inventory review of:
    • Web Applications & Users
    • Database Size
    • Security
    • Server Configuration
    • Information Architecture
    • Solutions – Apps / Sandbox / 3^rd Party
    • Customization

Session 2 – Plan and Decide

Determine what changes are top priorities.  This will include:

• What, When, How  needs to be migrated
• Risk assessment
• Security issues

Session 3 – Migrate (Act)

With an agreed road map, the cloud journey will include a cost analysis, total cost of ownership, and re-skilling needs.

Session 4 – Optimize

Set SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-based) goals to help you measure your progress.

This will enable you to:

• Track and achieve milestones using custom migration plans
• Establish a utilization baseline for assessing progress over time
